The Droid gives you the ability to save large amounts of data and run applications that aren't compatible with standard cellphones. The Droid only has 256 MB of internal memory, so you need to use a separate SD card to store more photos or music files onto your phone. Unlike many other phone models, the SD card in the Droid is accessed underneath the battery inside the phone.
Instructions
1. Press and hold the black button at the top of the Droid for three seconds until the "Power Off" option appears on the screen. Tap "Power Off" to turn off the phone.
2. Turn the Droid over to locate the back cover. Press down on the cover and slide it away from the phone. Set the cover aside.
3. Lift up the bottom edge of the rectangle shaped battery and pull the battery out of the phone. Locate the SD card slot near the top of the phone, It is positioned underneath the silver metal bar and to the right of the gold colored battery connection tabs.
4. Align the SD card so that the slanted edge is facing to the right, and the card's label is facing up. Push the card into the slot and press forward gently until it locks into place.
5. Set the battery back inside the Droid and make sure the gold connection tabs are touching the corresponding ports on the battery. Press the battery down and slide the cover back onto the phone. Turn the phone over. Press and hold the top black button until the Droid powers on.
