The BlackBerry Enterprise Server is a BlackBerry management application that integrates with enterprise-level software such as Microsoft Exchange. BES affords enterprise network and systems administrators flexibility with regards to which features to allow and which to disable for corporate BlackBerry users. Administrators may activate BlackBerry devices wirelessly on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Instructions
1. Log onto the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
2. Open the "BlackBerry Manager" application. A list of users appears.
3. Right-click on the user to activate and select "Set Password."
4. Type a password for the new activation and click "OK."
5. Press the "Menu" button on the BlackBerry to activate to show the homescreen.
6. Scroll to and select the "Options" icon by tapping the touchscreen or pressing the trackball or trackpad.
7. Scroll to and select "Advanced Options."
8. Scroll to and select "Enterprise Activation." An input screen will open.
9. Type the new user's email address into the "Email Address" input box.
10. Type the new user's password and select "OK."
11. Scroll to and select "Activate" by tapping the option icon, or pressing the trackball or trackpad. A progress bar indicates the activation is being attempted. Once complete, a notification of "Activation Complete" appears.
