Connect A 901 Equalizer To A Denon Receiver

Stereo cable with color stripe on each plug to distinguish the connections.

The 901 equalizer manufactured by Bose hooks up to an amplifier or receiver, such as a Denon. The 901 adjusts audio across a range of frequencies to customize the sound to individual tastes. Two stereo cables connect the equalizer to the receiver's second set of tape-deck jacks to send the unprocessed audio signal to the 901, then back again to the receiver for playback. The Denon can be switched in seconds to activate or bypass the circuit to the equalizer.

Instructions

1. Turn off the Bose 901 equalizer and the Denon receiver.

2. Connect one end of a stereo cable to the "Tape 2" outputs on the rear of the Denon, plugging the white cable connector into the left output and the red to the right output.

3. Plug in the other ends of the cable to the pair of inputs on the back of the 901.

4. Connect the second stereo cable from the 901 outputs to the Denon's "Tape 2" inputs.

5. Turn on the two components. Press the button labeled "Tape Monitor" on the Denon to send the unprocessed audio signal to the 901 for equalization. Press the button again to shut off the connection to the equalizer.
