Configure A Dish Remote

Once you have your dish satellite installed, you will want to know configure a dish remote so that you can control everything right from the comfort of your chair. The remote is capable of controlling a TV, the satellite receiver and VCR. Programming is easy if you follow these easy to understand steps. You will need each unit that you wish to program into the remote on have a visual for the remote to connect with the eye of the unit.


Instructions


Configure the TV Button


1. Turn on the television that you will program into the "TV" button.


2. Point the remote at the television, press the "TV" button down and hold it until all of the lights have lit up at which time you should release the button and the "TV" button will be blinking.


3. Press the "Power" button and the "TV" button will stay lit up instead of blinking. Use the "Channel Up" button to find the code for the TV. Keep pressing the "Channel Up" button until the TV turns itself off.


4. Press the "#" button to set the code. If you have successfully installed the code, the "TV" button will blink three consecutive times.


Configure the VCR


5. Turn on the VCR that you will program into the "VCR" button.


6. Point the remote at the VCR, press the "VCR" button down and hold it until all of the lights have lit up at which time you should release the button and the "VCR" button will be blinking.


7. Press the "Power" button and the "VCR" button will stay lit up instead of blinking. Use the "Channel Up" button to find the code for the VCR. Keep pressing the "Channel Up" button until the VCR turns itself off.


8. Press the "#" button to set the code. If you have successfully installed the code, the "VCR" button will blink three consecutive times.


Configure the AUX Button for Second TV


9. Turn on the second TV that you will program into the "AUX" button.


10. Point the remote at the second TV, press the "AUX" button down and hold it until all of the lights have lit up at which time you should release the button and the "AUX" button will be blinking.


11. Press the "#" button and the number 2 so the "AUX" button will stay lit up instead of blinking, then press the * button. Use the "Channel Up" button to find the code for the TV. Keep pressing the "Channel Up" button until the TV turns itself off.


12. Press the "#" button to set the code. If you have successfully installed the code, the "AUX" button will blink three consecutive times.
