Microsoft Office Mobile is a condensed version of the Microsoft Office suite that is created specifically for smartphones and PDAs equipped with Windows Mobile operating system navigation. This mobile software suite enables its users to access and edit files created in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Office programs. It alleviates that constant need to transport a PC or laptop. Installing Office Mobile requires the completion a series of steps.
Instructions
1. Download the installation setup file. Click on the Office Mobile Download page link (see Resources). The page will open in a popup window. Click "Download Now."
2. Run the setup file installation on your computer. A file download window will open automatically when you opt to download the setup file. Click "Save" to save the setup file to your computer's hard drive. The setup file's icon will be placed on your computer's desktop.
3. Connect your smartphone or PDA phone to your computer. Plug the phone's USB sync cable's parallel end into the phone itself and the other end into your computer's 2.0 USB port. The computer will then begin working to configure the connection. Once the connection is detected, the phone's software driver will be installed to your computer automatically. An "AutoPlay" dialog window will appear on your computer screen.
4. Open Microsoft Windows Mobile PC. Go to your Start menu on your computer's taskbar. Click "Control Panel" when the menu opens. Select the "Mobile PC" folder. Within this subfolder, select the "Sync Center" option. Your smartphone or PDA phone should be displayed when Sync Center opens.
5. Click on the Office Mobile setup file icon on your computer's desktop. The Office Mobile InstallShield wizard will open automatically. Follow the installation prompts in the installation wizard. Choose all of the recommended default settings. The wizard will copy all of the Office Mobile files and components to your phone directly from your computer.
