Speedlite is one of the most renowned companies in camera flashes. They are used by professionals and amateurs alike. Knowing disassemble one can come in handy, if ever you are looking to repair it or change the bulb.
Instructions
1. Take out the batteries and disassemble the base. Remove the four visible screws on the base of the flash. The bottom will hang loose by some wiring. Rotate the flash 90 degrees and it will reveal another four small screws that need to be removed. Unplug the wiring on the bottom and set the bottom aside.
2. Pay attention to the pieces and parts while disassembling the rest of the flash. There are a lot of small pieces and if you don't pay attention or take pictures, you could have difficulty putting it back together.
3. Pull the front off the bottom of the flash, revealing the battery compartment and the electronics of the flash. Remove the two small screws on the top of the flash. The other eight hidden screws are located under the rubber hinge, next to the "push to rotate" button. The final screws are located where the wiring connects the base to the top.
4. Inspect the different components of the flash to ensure they are working correctly, to change the light bulb or to fix a broken component or motor. Be careful not to touch the contacts, or discharge them correctly to avoid being shocked by the 350 volts that run through it.
