Transfer Contacts From Cingular To A Verizon Phone

AT&T mobile backup can protect all files and contacts on your phone.


AT&T Wireless bought out the Cingular Wireless company in 2007. All Cingular subscribers now use AT&T online accounts when managing their plans and backing up their mobile data. You can transfer the contacts from your Cingular/AT&T phone with the help of AT&T's online backup application and your Verizon online account. You can complete the entire transfer process in under 30 minutes.


Instructions


1. Transfer your contacts to the phone's SIM card. Open the "Address Book" application on your Cingular/AT&T phone. Choose "Options" and then select "Copy to SIM." Check the phone's user guide for more specific instructions on copy the contacts to the SIM card.


2. Open the "Backup" application on your Cingular/AT&T phone. Select the "Backup" button and wait for the synchronization process to complete.


3. Log in to your Cingular/AT&T online account. Enter the username and password you created when you signed up for wireless service. Contact AT&T customer support if you do not know your username and password. Click the "Login" button after you have entered your account information.


4. Click the "Backup" tab in your account menu and then click "Contacts."


5. Click the "Export Contacts As CSV" button. Choose a destination folder on your computer for the new file. Click the "OK" button. Your account will start the export process to your computer.


6. Log in to your "My Verizon" online account. Click the "Contacts" button in the main menu. Select "Import Contacts" and wait for the file to load. Click the "Sync" button in the account's main menu. The Verizon account will begin downloading the contacts to your Verizon phone.
