Instruction Guide For A Panasonic Aghvx200a

DV cassettes let you record standard definition footage.

The Panasonic AG-HVX200A camcorder offers high-definition capabilities, solid-state media support, a wide-angle lens and more. However, the Panasonic AG-HVX200 camcorder line also comes with a steep learning curve, according to CNet. While the Panasonic AG-HVX200A can seem overwhelming, even a first-time user can master the basic functions. For advanced filming techniques, you'll need to spend more time with the camcorder's user manual, but basic videotaping is achievable in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

1. Fully charge the battery prior to use. To remove the battery, depress the release button and pull the battery upward. Slide the battery into the charger, and plug your charger into an electrical wall outlet. The LED light will turn green when the battery is charged.

2. Insert a P2 card or a DV cassette tape into the camcorder. The solid-state P2 card provides digital storage for high-definition filming. For standard filming, use the DV cassette tape. The card slides into a small slot on the front of the camcorder, and the tape is inserted into a compartment on the left-hand side of the camcorder. Only insert the P2 card if you plan on using this storage device. If both a P2 card and a DV cassette tape are inserted into the camcorder, the Panasonic AG-HVX200A will automatically record to the P2 card rather than the DV cassette tape.

3. Turn on your camcorder by rotating the power switch counterclockwise. The power switch is located near the back right-hand side of the video camera. The switch rotates around the bright red recording button. To move the rotating switch, you must press in on the switch and then slide it upwards.

4. Look through the viewfinder, or open the LCD display.

5. Point your Panasonic AG-HVX200A camcorder at your subject, and adjust the zoom using the switch on the very top of your camcorder, near the right-hand side. The switch is labeled with a "W" and a "T." Pressing and holding the switch toward the "W" position will zoom out. Pressing toward the "T" will zoom in. The video camera will auto-focus as you adjust the zoom.

6. Press the red recording button once you have centered the subject and adjusted the zoom. This will automatically start recording whatever is displayed on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.

7. Press the red button again to stop recording. You have now successfully recorded your first piece of video. With this basic point-and-shoot filming, you should have a high-quality piece of video for use with editing software on a computer. Or you can play the footage directly on a TV by plugging RCA cables into your camcorder and television and pressing the "play" button located on the left-hand side of the camcorder.
