How Upload Pictures From A Fujinon Camera Without The Usb Drive

Fujinon, or Fuji for short, is a manufacturer of digital cameras. Their cameras take images and store them on internal memory cards rather than film. This allows users to plug their cameras into their computers, using a supplied USB cable, to transfer them over for printing or viewing. If this USB cable should be misplaced, you needn't worry. Using a device called a card reader, you also can read the contents of the memory card from your Fuji camera and transfer the images that way. A USB drive is not needed in any case.

Instructions

1. Remove the memory card from your Fuji camera. Most models will require you to open the battery compartment and press down on the memory card. It will pop up in its slot allowing for easy removal. If your camera differs from these instructions, consult your model's documentation for more information.

2. Check the label of your memory card to discover which format it is. It will most likely be an SD card or a CompactFlash card. Once you are sure of the card's format, purchase a card reader from an electronics store that supports it. Make sure to check your computer first, as many have built-in card readers that read multiple formats.

3. Connect your card reader to your computer by plugging its USB cord into an available port. If you computer has a built-in card reader, you can ignore this step.

4. Insert your Fuji's memory card into the card reader. Be sure to press it all of the way into the slot with the label facing up. Be gentle and do not force the card in. Windows will recognize the card automatically.

5. Click "Import Pictures and Videos" from the AutoPlay window. If AutoPlay fails to launch, click "Computer" from the Start menu and right-click the "Removable Disk." Click "Launch AutoPlay."

6. Type a tag that describes the images on your camera. Use something like "Hawaii Vacation" or "Family Gathering 2011" so you'll know what the pictures are when they're imported. Click "Import." Windows will copy all of the images from the memory card and save them to your "Pictures" folder.

7. Right-click "Removable Device" from the Computer window and click "Eject" before removing your memory card.
