How Tell If My Lg Env Cell Phone Needs A New Battery

The lithium ion battery in your LG enV phone will deteriorate over time -- no matter how well you care for your phone and its battery. Initially, you can count on getting approximately four hours of talk time and up to 460 hours of standby time before the battery needs to be recharged. This fact is important, because understanding how well your battery operates at its full capacity will help you determine when it needs to be replaced.

Instructions

1. Keep an eye on how long each charge lasts. When the battery life has reached the point where it lasts only half as long as it used to, it's time to think about ordering a replacement. At this point, the battery will begin a rapid deterioration, losing its ability to hold a charge at an increasingly faster rate.

2. Check the size and shape of the battery for malformations. An older battery may begin to swell and lose its smooth appearance. If you notice this happening with your LG enV battery, or you notice it is leaking fluid, take out the battery immediately. Batteries in this condition can burst inside your phone, causing damage to the internal components that may be irreversible.

3. Monitor how long each individual charging session takes. As batteries age, they take increasingly longer to reach a full charge. If it seems as if your LG enV battery takes 10 hours to charge fully, when it used to take only three to four hours to reach a full charge, it's time to replace the battery.
