Not too many years ago, resting a portable TV on your lap to watch a movie for 2 hours would have been a test of endurance. In addition to being bulky, the other problem with early portable TVs was picture quality. You usually had to strain your eyes to see through the snow on the screen to catch a glimpse of the program you watched. Today, technology has greatly improved the portable TV. You can select a TV from a wide range of sizes and picture quality has never been better than it is now.
Instructions
1. Carry a TV in your pocket. You can purchase a video playing iPod or other MP4 player with a small screen to watch TV (see Resources below). While you can't grab TV signals from the air with pocket-sized devices, you can download your favorite programs to your hand-held player from your computer.
2. Select the high quality picture found in a portable LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV. Choose a mini-LCD ranging in size from 5 inches to 10.4 inches. You can find 16:9 ratio TVs , like the LCD7M, or standard TV 4:3 ratio found in the LCD8DS (see Resources below). You will also enjoy an incredible 1440x234 Dots resolution when you select the LCD portable TV.
3. Watch DVDs, TV and play games on a 10.4 inch LCD screen. The Marshall DVDT104 has a built-in DVD player and comes with over 300 games on an additional disk (see Resources below). You can also use the built-in USB port on the DVDT104 to play music, pictures or movies taken from your computer.
4. Take a big screen TV with you wherever you go by using a pair of video glasses (see Resource below). You can find virtual screen sizes ranging from 24 inches to 50 inches by wearing a pair of video glasses that plug into your video/TV player. 5. Read online reviews at Cnet before you select a portable TV to purchase (see Resources below). Cnet gives ratings and reviews on a wide variety of available models.
