Xone 4d Vs Xone 92

United Kingdom-based Allen & Heath is a professional audio equipment manufacturer that specializes in disc jockey gear. Most known for its mixing consoles for studio and live performance, the Xone mixer series offers creative solutions for consumers, regardless of intended use.

Xone 4D

The 20-channel Xone 4D mixer keeps with analogue sound, handling 105 MIDI (musical instrument digital interface) controllers and 227 MIDI messages. With four multi-input stereo channels, 24-bit analogue to digital conversion, record output, two customizable jog wheels with four assignable switches, and two available, separate layers of MIDI controllers, the Xone 4D is built with the live performer in mind. Users can combine traditional turntable setups with live software mapping, creating unique mixing possibilities.

Xone 92

The Allen & Heath Xone 92 is a six-channel mixer. With 10 stereo inputs and two microphone inputs, the Xone 92 offers up to four turntable connections and a multitude of other audio equipment hosting, such as samplers, drum machines, MIDI controllers and sound cards. An improved feature throughout the years of Xone 92 production is the inclusion of the MIDI control, allowing for the mixer's interface to transmit MIDI data to external effects and samplers.

Comparison

The Xone 4D mixer has a built-in sound card, allowing users to take advantage of the MIDI features. The Xone 92 does not feature a sound card, which gives consumers the option to choose their own devices. The Xone 4D's USB connectivity also gives users direct control over the mixer with the intended software, while the Xone 92 relies on external controllers and connectivity to accomplish the same goals.
