Large Flat Screen Tv Specs

Large flat-screen television sets are typically sized at 32 inches and over. A variety of manufacturers make these TVs using LCD, plasma or LED technology. The technical specifications of a large flat-screen TV include things such as the resolution, the contrast ratio, the amount of inputs and more.

Resolution

Most large flat-screen television sets display high-definition images, though the actual resolution will vary depending on the model. Some TVs will have a 720p resolution, while others will have a 1080p resolution. Both, technically, are high-definition and are vastly superior to the resolution of a cathode ray television, but only 1080p is considered to be "true" high definition.

Screen Size

The screen size of any large flat-screen television set is measured diagonally, from one corner to another. In standard electronics retailer classification.

Inputs

The number of inputs on your large flat-screen television set determines how many devices can be connected. All large flat-screen televisions have at least one HDMI input, one composite audio and video input and one component audio and video input. However, many televisions have multiple inputs of each, allowing for more devices to be connected.

Digital TV Tuner

All large flat-screen television sets have a digital television tuner, capable of being connected directly to a digital cable box or digital television antenna using a coaxial cable. This is in contrast to old cathode ray televisions, which had analog TV tuners. If you had a television with an analog tuner, you would first have to connect it to a digital converter box and then to an antenna to receive programming.
