Use A Usb Cable To Upgrade Viewsat Pvr 7000

Upgrading your Viewsat PVR7000 ensures that your receiver has the latest system files and functions at peek performance. Manufacturers often periodically produce patches and updates to make their product run smoother and more efficiently. With USB version 2.0 ports located on the receiver, downloading and installing updates will take no time at all. Read on for tips on upgrading your receiver via USB.


Instructions


1. Connect the USB between your Viewsat and your computer. The port for the USB cable is located on the front panel of the receiver for convenient access.


2. Power on the Viewsat. The computer should immediately recognize the device and should open the New Hardware wizard to guide you through the installation process.


3. Choose the option labeled "Install the software automatically." The wizard should locate and install the proper drivers for the Viewsat. If the wizard fails to locate the drivers for the receiver, download a copy of the drivers from the manufacturer's website. Run the wizard again. Point the wizard to the location of the downloaded driver file via the explorer feature of the New Hardware wizard.


4. Download a copy of the latest driver and updates from the manufacture's website. Create a new folder on your desktop and save the downloaded updates in it.


5. Open the transmission wizard. There will be four folders labeled "MP3," "Pictures," "Upgrade," and "Capture." Open the "Upgrade" folder and use the drag-and-drop feature to copy your Viewsat updates there. After disconnecting the receiver, restart it for the changes to take effect.
