Set Up A Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera

The Coolpix, one of the top digital devices offered by Nikon, allows you connect to any computer with wireless Internet and send pictures to your computer by accessing this wireless connection. Setting up the initial connection can be done with your Nikon USB cable.

Instructions

1. Make sure your computer is connected to a wireless network and plug your Nikon Coolpix camera, which should be turned off, into the computer using its USB cable. Allow the Setup program to start and click "Next" three times to complete the set-up to your computer and your new profile will be created. Name it something you will remember.

2. Remove the Coolpix from your computer and turn the camera back on.

3. Rotate the mode dial on your camera to the antenna logo that indicates the wireless Internet setting. The blue light on the sign of your camera under the "WiFi" label will blink until the network is found and will stay lit once you are connected.

4. Scroll in the next screen to the named profile that was just created on your computer and select it by pressing the select button.

5. Scroll through the next screen to choose your mode of desired wireless actions. These include "Easy Transfer," which transfers images to a computer or printer; "Marked Images" and "Select Images," which transfer only selected pictures; or "Shoot and Transfer," which allows you to take a photograph and immediately transfer it. Once you make your selection you will be able to position and take your picture and it will be transferred immediately.
