Using a microscope on a projector presentation
Digital microscopes are able to take pictures and record images or videos on computers, so you can present the images to a large audience through a projector. The microscope connects directly to a computer and allows individuals to take the pictures or videos, and add additional effects such as drawings. This is an extremely useful tool for teachers, because they are able to place specimens under the microscope and explain information on a projector to their entire classroom all at once.
Instructions
1. Make sure you have a digital microscope with the required software to link the microscope to the computer.
2. Install the software to your computer. In addition, attach the projector to your computer. Shut down the computer and restart.
3. Plug your microscope into the USB port of the computer. When the computer recognizes your microscope, an icon will appear on your desktop. Click on the icon.
4. Turn on your projector.
5. To get live viewing of your microscope specimen, click on the appropriate microscope icon from your software. Make sure your objective lens is at 10 times magnification, the lowest magnification. Always start with the lowest magnification on your microscope and increase as needed.
6. Take images or videos by pressing the appropriate camera or video buttons on your software screen.
7. Save images and videos to your computer for future use or to add into Microsoft's PowerPoint presentation software. The presentation can then be shown to your audience with microscope images and videos.
