With cable companies and satellite providers changing lineups and moving stations from one channel to another, it can be quite confusing locating your favorite television shows. While your Tivo will usually automatically update any channel changes, on occasion, for whatever the reason, it may fail to make the proper update. Adding a channel to the lineup on your Tivo is very simple and just a matter of knowing the right buttons to press on the remote.
Instructions
1. Go to Tivo Central. To get to Tivo Central, click on the Tivo icon at the top of your Tivo remote. It is the first button at the very tip of the remote and is shaped like a square.
2. Scroll down to "messages & settings" and click select.
3. Scroll down to "settings" and press the select button.
4. Scroll down to "channels" and press the select button once more.
5. Scroll down to "channel list" and press select. A list of all of the channels that are available from your cable or satellite provider will be displayed. Each channel that you receive will have a check mark next to it.
6. Scroll through the channels until you find the station that you are looking for and press select. This will add a check mark to the channel and you will now be able to view and record that channel. If you have a large number of channels to choose from, simply press the channel number on your remote and press select. This will take you right to the channel.
