Your Samsung TX-R2764 TV might power on or off unexpectedly. Power outages, and the TV's automatic timer, and sleep timer functions affect how it uses its power supply. Whether the TV turns on or off also depends on how external devices are connected. Troubleshoot these and other reasons by following a simple, yet organized approach.
Instructions
1. Verify that the TV's power plug is completely plugged into the AC wall outlet. Plug the TV into another wall outlet to confirm that the outlet is working. Turn the wall switch on if it is controlled by a timed wall switch. Press the "TV/Video" button.
2. Tighten up all external devices and coax cable/antenna connections to the TV, and from the TV to the coax Ant 1 wall terminal and also to the Ant 2 wall terminal, if used.
3. Replace blown fuses and flip the circuit breaker switch back on if it switched off.
4. Unplug the TV's power cord for one minute, and then replug it.
5. Replace the remote control batteries with fresh ones if the device does not turn the TV on when you press the "Power" button. Install the correct polarity, that is, place the "+" and "-" symbol sides of the batteries the same way as the markings are displayed inside the battery compartment.
6. Review the sequence of how Timer indicator works when you turn your TV on. The Timer Indicator is located to the immediate left of the Power button. It will blink five times when the TV is first turned on. It will then stay illuminated whether the TV is on or off when the Timer mode is set to On.
7. Press the "Menu" button on the TV panel or remote control to check the On/Off Timer and Sleep Timer settings. Use the directional arrow buttons to highlight your selections. Select "Setup." Press "Enter." Select "On Timer" and select "Off." Select "Off Timer" and select "Off." Select "Sleep Timer" and select "Off." Press the "Exit" button when finished.
