Corvette Stinger Hood Specs

Some 1967 Corvette Stingers came with a larger hood to fit the big block engine.


"Stinger hood" often refers to the hood on any of the Corvette Stingers released in 1967. Stingers had a larger hood to accommodate the big block engine inside. This Corvette was the last to have the second-generation body styling.


General Engine Specifications


Four varieties of 1967 big block Stingers were produced. Each was a V-8 that displaced 427 cubic inches.


L88 Engine


The L88 engine had a compression ratio of 11-to-1. The engine put out 430 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, and produced torque of 460 foot-pounds at 3,600 rpm.


L71 Engine


With a compression ratio of 11-to-1, the L71 engine put out 435 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. The torque was 460 foot-pounds at 4,000 rpm.


L68 Engine


The L68 engine had a compression ratio of 11-to-1 and produced 400 horsepower at 5,400 rpm. The torque was 460 foot-pounds at 3,600 rpm.


L36 Engine


The compression ratio of the L36 was 10.25-to-1, and the engine put out 390 horsepower at 5,000 rpm. The engine produced 560 foot-pounds of torque at 3,600 rpm.


Dimensions


The 1967 Stinger was 175.1 inches long, 69.6 inches wide, and 49.8 inches high. The wheelbase was 98 inches, and the car weighed in at 3,155 pounds.
