The Sylvania SDVD7047 is a portable DVD player that comes with a handheld remote control that controls playback of videos, music and photo slideshows on your electronic device. If navigating the device with the remote control does not work, or the DVD player behaves erratically, a battery replacement in the remote control and a recharge of the DVD player's battery can correct common problems. Alternatively, adjust your system settings to configure the contrast and brightness that can cause the DVD player's picture to be too dark or light to comfortably read the screen.
Instructions
1. Check the portable DVD player's power cable to ensure it is securely inserted into the device's power port.
2. Insert the power cable into an alternate electrical wall outlet. A faulty wall outlet prevents electricity from being properly sent through the power cable.
3. Recharge the SDVD7047's battery by leaving it plugged into a wall outlet for six hours to fully charge the device.
4. Remove the battery from the bottom of the portable DVD player's remote control, and replace it with a new CR2025 battery. The battery's "+" side is face up in the battery slot when inserted correctly.
5. Press the right arrow key on the DVD player to scroll to Settings, and press "OK" to select the System Settings. Scroll to the Contrast and Brightness settings, and press the right or left keys to adjust the contrast if the screen seems darker or lighter than usual.
