Hook Up a DVD Recorder to a Digital Cable Box to Record Off of TV

Just as DVDs have pretty much replaced VHS tapes now that DVDs have become more affordable, DVD recorders are slowly replacing VCRs. Hooking up a DVD recorder to your cable box so that you may record programs off your television set, just as you would with a VCR, is no more complicated than setting up your VCR was. Here are the basics.

2. FOR OPTION A

3. Plug in your second set of RCA audio cables and your RCA video cable into the RCA output jacks of your DVD recorder. Match the color of the plug to the color of the jack. Plug in the other end of these cables into the RCA input jacks of your television.

4. Turn your TV on and do one of the following depending upon the user guidelines of your TV:

Use the Input button on your TV remote control, or on the TV unit itself, to scroll through and set the television picture to the corresponding video input channel for the RCA input jack used to plug the RCA cables into your TV.

OR
