Reduce Monitor Camera Glare

Monitor camera glare is caused by the reflection of natural and artificial light on a monitor screen. Glare can make it hard to read or see images on the screen, which causes eye strain. By changing the placement of the screen and the light in the room, you can significantly reduce glare.

Instructions

1. Place the camera monitor at a 90 degree angle to any windows in the room. This will keep the sun from reflecting off the screen.

2. Replace overhead lighting with a desk lamp. Light that shines from above will cause a glare, but a desk lamp will not have the same effect.

3. Lower the monitor's contrast and brightness level. Most monitors don't need the contrast and brightness at full capacity, but you should still have it at a level that is easy on your eyes so you are not straining to read.

4. Place yourself at least 16 inches away from the monitor. This technique also helps reduce glare.

5. If all else fails, use a monitor filter. This is a camera monitor accessory that is designed to cut out glare.
