Sell Your Photo Equipment

Get the best price for your photo equipment.

You want to get the most you can when you sell your photography equipment. Photo equipment is not cheap, and buying those items represented a major investment in time spent choosing the right equipment and in the money to buy it. Getting the best price on the equipment you have to sell requires some creativity and hard work, but the extra money is well worth the energy expended.

Instructions

1. Seek out magazines and periodicals devoted to photography. Check each publication to see whether it accepts classified ads. If it does, check the rates for those ads to determine whether the publication is a good venue for selling your photography equipment.

2. Contact your local community colleges, high schools, community centers and other institutions that offer photography classes. Tell photography instructors about the equipment you have to sell. The instructors might be able to help you sell that equipment to interested students.

3. Compare the prices of similar pieces of photography equipment at online auction sites like eBay. If you have an eBay account, check the completed auctions to get an idea of what your own equipment might fetch.

4. List your equipment in an online auction if you want to sell it that way. You can set a reserve for the auction if bids don't reach what you feel it is worth.

5. Post ads for your photo equipment at local photo shops and framing stores. Be sure to get permission of the business owner or store management before posting any ads.
