Instructions For Analog To Digital Conversion

Homeowners can receive digital TV transmissions over an existing antenna with a digital converter.

Television stations transmit digital Radio Frequency (RF) waves for antennas to receive for display on televisions. Older TVs have analog receivers to split into sound and picture for display on the screen. A digital conversion box enables homeowners with analog reception to view digital signals on their appliances. The antenna receives digital signals that enter a conversion box to change it to an analog signal for the TV to display the stations.

Instructions

1. Unplug the analog TV from the electrical outlet.

2. Grasp the antenna coaxial cable on the back of the TV. Turn the connector counterclockwise to loosen it and pull it straight off the TV.

3. Place the converter box on or near the television.

4. Insert the antenna cable into the "Antenna in (RF)" plug on the converter box. Turn the cable clockwise to tighten in place.

5. Place the coaxial cable from the converter box kit in the "Out to TV (RF)" plug on the converter box. Turn the cable end clockwise to tighten.

6. Plug the opposite end of the coaxial cable into the "Antenna in (RF)" plug on the back of the TV.

7. Plug both the television and the converter box power plugs into an electrical outlet.

8. Turn both appliances to the "On" position with the remote controls or by hand.

9. Turn the TV to channel 3 or 4 and use the converter box remote control to follow on-screen setup instructions for your particular converter model.
