Unlock A Tracfone C139

TracFone is a prepaid cellular service provider that operates in the United States. One of the phones sold by TracFone is the Motorola C139. The Motorola C139 is a Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular phone. TracFone sells its phones with a carrier lock that prevents using the phone with another cellular service provider's subscriber identity module (SIM) card. It is, however, possible to unlock the Motorola C139 so that you can use it with a non-TracFone SIM card.

Instructions

1. Call TracFone at (800) 867-7183 and request the unlock code for your Motorola C139. TracFone will normally give you the unlock code for your phone free of charge if you have an active account that is in good standing. Alternatively, you can purchase the unlock code from a company that sells unlock codes. Write down the unlock code.

2. Purchase a non-TracFone SIM card from any GSM cellular service provider worldwide.

3. Remove the back cover and battery from the Motorola C139. Under the battery, you will find the TracFone SIM card. Remove the SIM card.

4. Replace the battery and back cover and power on the phone.

5. Enter the unlock code you wrote down in Step 1. Your Motorola C139 is now unlocked and will work with the non-TracFone SIM card.
