Hard Reset A Bosch Dvr

Digital video recorders (DVRs) are commonly used for recording television programs. Bosch manufactures DVRs that record signals received from security cameras. Bosch DVRs can connect to the Internet for online viewing of camera recordings and to update the software in the unit. Some software updates may make it so that the DVR does not function properly. When this occurs, you can perform a hard reset on the machine, which deletes software updates and returns the machine to the factory settings.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button located on the left side of the rewind button on the DVR control panel. The menu screen will show up on the monitor.

2. Fast forward to scroll through the menu options at the top of the screen and choose the "Play" button when "System Settings" is highlighted. Several additional menu options will appear on the left side of the screen.

3. Scroll through the menu options on the left side of the screen by pressing the "Stop" button, and then press "Play" when "Miscellaneous" is highlighted. Several additional options will appear in the main window on the screen.

4. Highlight "Factory Defaults" and select the "Play" button. Confirm resetting the unit to the factory defaults with the "Play" button. The DVR will return to the factory defaults, and your information will delete from the unit.
