Put Paper In A Fax Machine

Correctly putting paper in a fax machine is one of the most important parts of sending or receiving a fax. Without taking the proper measures, you can result in errors or paper jams which can lead to lost faxes. Here are the steps to help you know put paper in a fax machine.


Instructions


1. Remove any remaining fax paper from the previous roll and examine your fax machine for any evidence of paper scraps that could jam the fax machine.


2. Remove the cover for the fax paper on your fax machine. This is usually located near the back of the machine.


3. Place the new roll of fax paper on the spindle so that the paper roll feeds from the bottom.


4. Carefully insert the leading edge of the fax paper into the paper slot on the fax machine. Take extra care to insert it evenly so that the paper does not bind.


5. Once you have inserted the paper an inch or so, try pressing the "Feed" button on the fax machine and see if the roller inside has enough purchase on the paper to feed it the rest of the way through the machine.


6. Continue to press the "Feed" button until the fax paper comes out on the other side of the fax machine smoothly.


7. Copy a document on the fax machine as a test to ensure that the fax paper flows through the fax machine properly.
