Install Tomtom6 On Nokia N95

The Nokia N95 is a quadband smartphone running on the Symbian operating system. It is a feature-packed multimedia device with a S60 3rd edition user interface. It is part of the Nokia N series line of phones. It has a two-way slider design and supports high-speed networks. It comes equipped with integrated GPS and the Nokia Maps application. Initially TomTom6 was not compatible with the N95. However, users can install the software onto a microSD for usage on the device.

Instructions

1. Install the TomTom HOME software on your computer. This software is included with the TomTom6 DVD or miniSD card. TomTom HOME is also free download from TomTom.com/home and available for Windows XP, 2000, Vista and Mac OSX. An Internet connection is required for downloading updates, maps or services.

2. Connect the microSD flash memory card to your computer with a card reader. Start TomTom Home. Select Device. You will see your card listed as an "Unknown device." Select "Change target device" then click "OK." The next screen will show a list of target devices. Select "Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition."

3. On the next screen, select "TomTom application for S60," the maps you want to install on your phone and a voice file. Click the large green "Install" button at the top of the screen. A prompt will ask you to backup your device. Since your card is clean, with no files, you can choose "No." Installation of the TomTom files begin.

4. Check to see if the files are on your card. Within the TomTom software, a list of the files appear in the "Manage your TomTom" area when "Install to TomTom" is selected. You can also view the files on the card via the regular file manager on your computer.

5. Insert the microSD card into your Nokia Phone. TomTom should launch automatically. Follow the prompts and instructions on your phone to install and activate the software.
