Buy A Portable Tv/Dvd Combo

If you have kids, odds are high that at one time or another you've wished you could just haul your TV and DVD player around with you to eliminate the boredom of road trips or long days of running errands. The world of portable TV/DVD combos has opened up a wide variety of choices, allowing you to do just that in one easy package.

Instructions

1. Research what types of portable TV/DVD combos are available. Some that claim to be portable aren't really that easy to move from one location to another, thereby taking the portable part out of the equation.

2. Don't settle for the cheapest one. Relatively inexpensive players are cheap for a reason. You can have reoccurring problems like menu highlights disappearing and sometimes certain DVDs won't even load. Find a mid-price level unit and you won't be disappointed.

3. Determine how you'll use your portable TV/DVD combo. Think about whether you plan to haul it around with you or keep it in the mini-van. If you buy a model that runs solely on electricity, there are certain places you will never be able to use it. Look for a model that has both a battery and electric power source.

4. Go to retail locations to see the products turned on. Purchase from a reputable electronics store or magazine. The store will have as big an investment in the quality of the product as you; they don't want to see a lot of returns so they are likely to only sell products that aren't in danger of a massive recall.

5. Pay close attention to the quality of the sound and screen. Ask the sales professionals to put a DVD in the player so you can see how it works. Ask about the guarantees for their products as well as their return policy. While it's not always that you'll need to have repairs on a television, it does sometimes happen so find out what's covered and what isn't before you make your final selection.
