Replace A Lamp For Vplhs20 Projector

The Sony VPL-HS20 Cineza Home Theater projector is a front-projection system designed for use in living rooms and home theaters. Like all front projectors, it uses a lamp to illuminate the image. The lamp in the VPL-HS20 has a limited lifespan, and must be replaced after a few thousand hours of use. You'll know to replace the lamp when you images start appear dull and the colors appear washed out. You can replace the lamp in the VPL-HS20 with the use of a screwdriver.

Instructions

1. Power off your VPL-HS20. Disconnect the power cord and any other cables attached to the projector. Allow the projector to cool down for at least an hour.

2. Lay the projector top down, so you can see the bottom panel. Loosen the screw on the lamp cover, located near the side of the projector, and remove the lamp cover.

3. Loosen the two screws holding the lamp unit in place. Grab the lamp unit by the handle and slide it out of the projector.

4. Slide the new lamp into the projector. Slide it in as far as it will go. Tighten the screws on the lamp. Replace the lamp cover and reconnect the power cable.

5. While the projector is in standby mode, reset the lamp-life counter. On your remote press "Reset," then the left arrow key, then the right arrow key, and then "Enter." Press the buttons for less than five seconds each.
