Component video cables are the red, green and blue wires that plug into the red, blue and green connections on TVs and other devices. Composite cables are the red, white and yellow cables that also plug into TVs and other devices. Other than the color scheme, these two cable sets look a lot alike, but there is a difference in their functions. Component cables use 3 wires to transfer video while composite cables only use a single wire.
Instructions
1. Plug one end of the component cable into the device that requires the component connection, then plug the other side of the component cable into the component ports of the component-to-composite converter. Each side of the component cable has 3 plugs one red, one blue and one green.
2. Plug one end of the composite cable into the TV, then plug the other side of the composite cable into the composite ports of the component-to-composite converter. Each side of the composite cable has 3 plugs one red, one white and one yellow.
3. Plug the power cable of the component-to-composite converter box into an electrical power outlet. Turn on the power of the converter box, TV and device that the component signal is being converted to.
