The XRS 9955 is a radar detector created by the Cobra electronics company. It comes with features such as laser bands, electronic compass, voice alert and a global positioning system (GPS) compass. To keep your Cobra device running smoothly, you need to update it with the latest software. Cobra provides you with the software to fix any software glitches associated with your device. You may download the updates from its website.
Instructions
1. Connect to the Internet and navigate to the Cobra website (see Resources). Click the "Customer Service" tab at the top of the website.
2. Click on the "Support" heading. Click the "Software Updates" option.
3. Click on your Cobra XRS 9955 model. Click on the "Software Updates" heading. Click on the latest update. Save it to your desktop for easy access.
4. Double-click the software update on your desktop. Click the "Run" button. Click the "Next" button.
5. Connect your device to your computer with its USB cable. Click "Next" and "Install." The update will transfer to your device. Click "Finish" when notified that the process has been completed.
