Get Great Professional Pictures Taken With Your Infant

If your baby becomes cranky or irritated, take a break for feeding or a diaper change.

The arrival of a new baby to your family is a great reason to have professional pictures taken. Because babies grow so fast, it is important to capture your infant's image as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. An experienced photographer can guide you through your infant's photo session without any discomfort or stress.

Instructions

1. Select a trusted photographer you feel comfortable with. Ask other people who have recently had infant photos taken for their recommendations. Consider the cost when selecting a photographer. Visit the photographer's studio, and look over his previous work with infants. Discuss clothing and backdrop ideas with the photographer, to determine what you and your infant should wear. Schedule an appointment for a photo session.

2. Arrive to your session on time, as being late will cut into your session time. Bring every outfit you want your infant to be photographed in. Discuss the pose to be used for each photo, and place your infant into position. Follow the photographer's posing instructions, while making sure your baby is not in any danger of falling or tipping over.

3. Review the images taken by the photographer on a computer, if available. Modern photographers use digital cameras and computers to take professional quality photographs. Select the poses and images that you like. Select the number of photos or the photo package option you want.

4. You will be notified when your photographs are ready to be picked up. You may be required to pay for the photography before you can pick it up, unless other arrangements have been made.
