Save A Flip Video To An External Hard Drive

Save your Flip Video files to an external hard drive.

The Flip handheld video camera allows users to point-and-shoot high quality photos and videos that can be uploaded to a computer or external hard drive using the flip out USB mechanism. Known for its easy shoot and capture features, this portable, user-friendly video camera generates AVI files that are compatible and easily transferable to an external hard drive with a few clicks and drags of the mouse.

Instructions

1. Connect your external hard drive using a USB connector cable from your storage drive to the USB port on your desktop or laptop computer.

2. Connect the Flip Video camera using its flip-out USB connector to your computer.

3. Wait a couple of seconds for your computer to recognize the Flip Video camera and external hard drive devices.

4. Click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.

5. Look for the Flip Video folder, which is labeled under "DCIM." Double-click on the folder to open a separate window to list your Flip Video images and video files.

6. Go back to the "My Computer" window and double-click on your external hard drive icon. This will open a separate window that lists your external hard drive files.

7. Place the two windows side-by-side. Click on the Flip Video files you would like to save to the external hard drive and drag it over to the external hard drive window. Repeat the click-and-drag process for each file you would like to save. Depending on the size of the file, each file will save several seconds to minutes.
