Many websites allow cell phone users to create free ringtones for their phones. Owners of the Motorola V3, however, have been known to have difficulties getting the ringtones to play on their phones. This is because the V3 doesn't recognize the ringtone as an audio file. Fixing this problem is a simple process when using the Myxer website. By changing the format of the ringtone file, you can make ringtones that will actually play on your Motorola V3.
Instructions
1. Log onto the "Create Download Account" page on Myxer and create an account. This is necessary for getting the ringtones to work on your Motorola V3. After you're finished filling out the form on the page, check your email account for a message from Myxer. Click the activation link found in the email and you will be redirected to the homepage for your Myxer account.
2. Click the "Account" link to access the "Your Account Information" page.
3. Click the "Phone Preferences" link. This will take you to a new page.
4. Click the drop box labeled "Ringtone Format." This will be found in the "Ringtone Overrides" section. Once you click the drop box, you will be able to choose from seven different options. Select "AAC." This is the format necessary for a Motorola V3.
5. Click "Change" at the bottom of the page. Your settings will be saved.
6. Click the "Make Your Own" tab at the top of the Web page. Once you get to the new Web page, click the "Browse" tab. Then, find the song on your computer that you want to use as a Motorola V3 ringtone.
7. Click "Upload." A box will then appear on the screen after the file uploads.
8. Type a number in the "Start" box to change where your Motorola V3 ringtone will begin playing when you receive a call. After you do this, type a number in the "Length" box. This will be the amount of seconds your Motorola V3 ringtone will play before the caller is sent to your voice mail.
9. Click "Continue." Then, click "Send to Phone." Your Motorola V3 will receive a message that contains the ringtone you created.
