Put A Bulb In A Projection Tv

According to PartStore.com, most projection TV bulbs last around 2,000 hours. Projection TVs should have a lamp hour counter so you can regularly check how long the current bulbs have been in your TV. Whether or not you were expecting the bulb to burn out, though, it's not very hard to change the bulb in your projection TV. Just follow some key steps to ensure your safety.

1. Make sure your TV is unplugged before you do any work. After you unplug the TV, allow enough time to let it cool down completely. Don't risk the chance of touching something hot, especially the bulbs, or risking electrical shock. Have a small cloth or something similar handy when you are touching the bulbs. There is always a chance the old bulb could still be hot, especially if the TV was being used a long time before you unplugged it. Using the cloth on the new bulbs is also important. Oils on your hands could cause damage to the new bulbs, leading to premature wear. One alternative to a soft cloth is an old T-shirt.

2. When you are finished unplugging the TV and have let it cool down, remove the back cover. Most back covers should be easily removable with either a screwdriver or a wrench. After you remove the cover, look for the bulbs' housing unit. Consult your TV's manual to find the exact location because location could vary from model to model. Once you locate where the housing unit is, you should be able to carefully remove it by just unscrewing it.

3. Everything should now be disassembled, the back cover should be off, the housing unit should be removed, and bulbs should be unscrewed from the housing unit. With your soft cloth again, screw the new bulbs in the housing unit safety. Do so firmly, but not so tight that you risk breaking the bulb. After the bulbs are in, reattach the housing unit to the back of the TV. Before putting the back cover on, look around and make sure you have no missing parts like screws lying around in the TV. After inspection, screw the back cover on and plug the TV back in. You should now be able to watch TV like you did before the bulbs were replaced.
