Battery chargers are one way to charge rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable batteries are found in many household electronic products, such as digital cameras, camcorders, power tools, laptops, MP3 players and cell phones. WIth each use, the battery slowly begins losing its capacity. This means that the time the battery can power a device for slowly dwindles as the battery is charged and used. Reconditioning a battery can help restore some of the function to a rechargeable battery.
Instructions
1. Charge the rechargeable battery. Charging may vary based on the type of device and battery. Some devices have an outlet where a power adapter or charger is inserted to complete the charging process. Other devices require you to remove the battery and place it in a battery charger. Once completely charged, remove the charging device from the battery and insert the battery back into the electronic device, if applicable.
2. Power on the electronic device. Allow the battery to provide power to the device until the battery is completely drained. Once drained, the electronic device will shut off. Another way to drain the battery is to use a charger that has a discharge option. This option is found on battery chargers that are intended to charge large batteries, such as power tool, car and other rechargeable vehicle batteries. Simply slide the switch to the discharge setting and leave the battery until the indicator indicates the battery is drained.
3. Perform the process two more times. The battery has been reconditioned.
