The Syphon Filter series is a classic third-person spy game, starring Gabriel "Gabe" Logan. The Dark Mirror title is a direct sequel to Omega Strain, released for the PlayStation 2. The game involves searching for information on a project called "Dark Mirror." The secret to all spy missions is having the right tools. However, some of these tools aren't readily available, except to talented and practiced players. These secret weapons require some sneaky game play to win over.
SP57
You can unlock the SP57 for use, if you can pass the first training mission in less than one minute and 25 seconds (1:25). You may need to try the mission a few times before it works.
FAMAS
The bullpup-style French Assault rifle is unlocked in the Single-player mode when you complete Training Mission 2 in less than three-minutes. You also unlock this and the M16 for multi-player mode when you start a new account. Starting a multi-player account also earns you two pistols: The G-17 and Makarov.
UNP 45
Complete the third training mission with 100% accuracy to unlock the UNP 45. This means every shot you fire must hit a viable target.
M249 SAW
You can unlock the M249 SAW for single-player use. To get the weapon, you have to make your way through the KemSynth Tower in less than two minutes and forty-two seconds (2:42).
Shot Defender
Shotguns are staple weapons in most shooter-type games. For the Shot Defender, get through Sana Yemen 3 minutes and 39 seconds or less. You can also unlock this gun, and the SPA-12 for multiplayer modes when you reach rank R3.
SMAW
Rocket launchers and other small arm are dangerous at close quarters, but can prevent a fight down the road. If you're in the market for a SMAW, get to chapter 4-3 and shoot all of the small warheads.
AK-47
The AK-47 is one of the most well known weapons in the world, and it's yours if you can get to mission 6-1 and pass the "Headshots" goal. Headshots are also an important skill in sniping, so practice that well and you will earn some sniping badges.
M1 Super 90
The M1 Super 90 is a powerful gun, which you can use in Mission Mode. To unlock it, locate and destroy all 5 DU containers in Mission 4-1.
Laser Mines
Practice enough to earn an Elite Gadget badge, and you're rewarded with a set of Laser Mines--as well as the badge. You can also unlock these badges in multi-player mode, where they can unlock a slew of mines for multi-player battles.
Silenced M4
A silencer on a weapon makes it harder to detect, which is extremely useful in the spy game. If the regular M4 makes too much noise, grab a silenced version when you play Mission 7-1 and manage to get 10 head shots.
Special Missions
In addition to the story missions, you can also open several bonus missions. Pass all of the training missions within the time limits, and you can play "Goodnight, Sweetheart." Complete story mode, and you'll open "Birds of a Feather," which you can complete to unlock "Jimmy Zhou's Army." The mission "Trapped in the Hornet's Nest" becomes available to anyone with all of the Combat Sharp Shooter badges. Practice until you're an Elite Weapons Expert, with all of the badges to prove it, and you'll unlock the level "Up a Column Without a Paddle."
