The Olympus VN-4100PC is a personal digital voice recorder suitable for recording applications such as meetings, lectures, interviews or voice memos. In any or all of these applications, it may be convenient to pause recording for a moment instead of stopping it altogether, as setting up a new recording is a multi-step process for which you may not have time. Stopping and restarting will also save to multiple files, potentially making file management difficult.
Instructions
1. Power on the recorder by sliding the "Hold" switch, located on the left side of the recorder, to the down position.
2. Press the "Folder" button on the lower left of the top face. Select a folder from the four options by using the "+" and "-" buttons to navigate and the "Play" button to select your choice.
3. Press the "Rec" button to begin recording. The indicator LED just below the LCD display will light red.
4. Press the "Rec" button during recording to pause. The indicator LED will flash, and the word "Pause" appears on the display.
5. Resume recording by pressing the "Rec" button again. The Olympus will continue recording from the point where you paused.
6. Press the "Stop" button to stop recording and commit the file to the recorder's memory.
