Throughout the years, cameras have advanced alongside other technical advances. Film has been replaced by digital imaging. Black and white photographs have evolved into color photos. We now have the ability to alter our photos using red eye correction, rotating, cropping and filtering. Today, cameras have the ability to take panorama shots, which are images that are stitched together as the camera rotates on a mounting bracket, also known as panoramic brackets. The camera rotates around the optical center of the lens while attached to the bracket. The images can then be stitched together and enhanced using computer software.

Instructions

1. Bend the flat piece of steel to a 90 degree angle. Using a welding torch, heat the metal until it turns red. Then place the metal in an anvil or vice to hold it firm while you use a mallet to bend the metal to the specified 90 degrees.

2. Drill two holes in the cooled piece of 90 degree bent steel. The first hole will connect to the tripod. Make a measurement between the bottom of the camera to the middle of the lens, and drill the hole to line up to the center of the lens. The other hole should be placed further away so the lens can rotate and tilt.

3. Mount the tripod head adapter to the round wooden piece, the 360 degree scale, and the angled steel, in that order, using a roofing bolt. Place a washer between the steel and the 360 degree scale. On the opposite side of the steel, place another washer and then tighten a wing nut on the end of the roofing bolt to tighten all parts together.

4. Attach the flashgun holder adapter to the upright-bended steel using another roofing bolt and wing nut. Mount the camera using the flashgun holder adapter and then mount the entire bracket on the tripod using the tripod head adapter.

Ultraviolet and infrared light are both different forms of electromagnetic radiating, self-propagating waves that consist of alternating electric and magnetic fields. Despite this basic similarity, there are also some important differences.

Types

Electromagnetic radiation has both particle-like and wave-like properties. Like a wave, it has a frequency, a period and a wavelength; like a particle it comes in discrete units or packets of energy called photons. The energy of a photon of electromagnetic radiation is given by the formula E = hν, where ν is the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation in Hertz and h is Planck's constant. The wavelength and the frequency are related by the formula c = νλ, where λ is the wavelength; consequently, the greater the frequency, the smaller the wavelength.

Features

Effects

Ultraviolet carries sufficient energy to disrupt certain chemical bonds, so when it strikes DNA (the molecule in your cells that stores genetic information) it can cause mutations. 11. Solder the power wire to the harness.

12. Connect a ground wire from any metal point on your trailer to your harness.

13. Connect the harness to the back of your head unit.

14. Reattach the power supply to your travel trailer.

15. Test your unit to ensure that all speakers are working.

16. Slide the head unit into the dash kit and secure it with screws.

17.Replace any trim that you removed around the head unit.

70-150mm f4.0 Zoom Lens

Designed to be a portrait zoom telephoto lens, this manual lens can also be used as macro lens focusing on subjects as close as 64 centimeters. The lens is a little slower than the 35-70mm at f4.0. The lens is built with 13 lens elements in 10 groups. The angle of view of the lens is 34 degrees at 70mm and 16 degrees at 150mm. The front diameter is 52 millimeters.

Using the Lenses

Both the 35-70 f3.5 and 70-150 f4.0 are designed to replace a number of prime (non-zoom) lenses that you may otherwise carry in your camera bag. The lens on a Super 8 camera may become hazy with age.

Released in the mid-1960s, the Super 8 was a high-tech innovation over the plain 8 mm home movie format. Super 8 cameras were the latest and greatest in hove video technology, and plenty of the cameras are still around. The Super 8 gives a vintage look to your footage, and it's still relatively simple to use. Since the cameras are old, they can wear down and the lens can become hazy. With a replacement lens and some patience, you can replace your lens and have your old Super 8 working as good as new.

Instructions

1. Place a few drops of lens cleaning solution on the lens of your camera to clean it. You can buy lens cleaner at your local camera shop. Cleaners for digital camera lenses will work on your Super 8. Use your lens cloth to wipe the cleaner gently across the lens in a circular motion. Keep wiping until the lens is free of liquid. Spray your lens with several shots of your canned air. Look through the viewfinder of your Super 8 Camera; if the lens is still hazy, you may need to replace your lens.

2. Take apart your Super 8 camera if your lens is still hazy. Using your jewelers' screwdrivers unscrew the screws holding the frame of the camera together. Place the screws in a safe place for use later. The frame is now detached from the body of the camera. Carefully remove the body from the frame. With your smallest jewelers' screwdriver, open the lens housing at the front of your camera's body. Carefully remove the lens pieces from the lens housing. Gently spray a few squirts of canned air in the lens housing to clear away any access dust. Dispose of your hazy lens.

3. Replace the lens on your Super 8 camera by carefully setting the replacement into the ring from where you pulled your broken, hazy lens.

4. Return the rest of the lens pieces from where you removed them in the lens housing to reassemble the camera. Place the lens housing back together, and return the screws you removed with your smallest jewelers' screwdriver. Place the body of the camera back on its frame and screw it into place using the screws you removed with your jewelers' screwdriver.

Instructions

DVD Recorder

1. Connect the 8mm or Hi8 camcorder to the DVD recorder with an RCA audio-video cable. Match the color-coded plugs to the same yellow, red and white connectors on the output of the camcorder and input of the DVD recorder. If available, use input connectors found on the front panel of the DVD recorder.

2. Select the correct input for the DVD recorder using the remote or input button on the unit.

3. Select the desired recording quality from the DVD recorder menu using the remote. Unless your tape is longer than an hour, choose the highest quality setting. If the tape is longer, select the appropriate quality setting for the length of the tape to be recorded. The "SP" setting normally designates the quality setting for two-hour tape lengths.

4. Insert a recordable DVD into the recorder. Wait for the recorder to format the disc.

5. Insert an 8mm videotape in the camcorder. Rewind the tape if necessary.

6. Press the "Record" button on the DVD recorder and "Play" button on the 8mm camcorder. When the recording is finished, select the "Finalize Disc" setting from the DVD recorder menu to finalize the DVD so the disc will play on normal DVD players.

7. Download and install the USB TV Tuner (or video capture device) software from the manufacturer's website.

8. Connect the USB TV Tuner to an available USB port on your computer. Wait for the operating system to configure the hardware and notify you the device is ready to use.

9. Plug the RCA audio-video cable into the outputs of the camcorder and the inputs of the TV Tuner. Match the yellow, red and white color-coded jacks on the video devices to the same colored connectors found on the audio-video cable.

10. Rewind the 8mm videotape if necessary and insert the tape into the camcorder.

11. Open the TV Tuner recording software and configure the software using the options menu to select the RCA inputs and record the file in the MPEG-2 format.

12. Press the "Record" icon in the software and the "Play" button on the camcorder to begin capturing the video. When finished, enter a file name and select the folder where you want to save the digital video file.

It isn't common for people to install a DirecTV satellite dish on their own, since free installation is included with the subscription package. Nonetheless, it is possible to install the dish antenna on your own. It isn't just a matter of picking a spot to place the dish, however. You need to find a place to securely mount the dish where it has a clear view of the satellite, and you need to ground it against electrical surges.

Location

Most people know that an unobstructed view of the southern sky is needed for the dish antenna, although the dish must face north for people south of the equator. The exact angle of the dish is also important, which includes both its vertical angle (elevation) and horizontal (azimuth). The DirecTV satellite is positioned over the equator over Mexico, so the dish must point in that direction. For subscribers in the U.S., for example, the elevation usually needs to be turned between 30 and 60 degrees; its closer to 30 degrees for northern states and 60 degrees in the south. The elevation indicator on the dish's support arm adjusts the elevation. The azimuth must be turned to the southwest for eastern states, southeast in the west and pointing south in the central states. There is an on-screen menu through the receiver box that tells you the exact coordinates for your location. Connect the receiver box to the TV set and use the DirecTV remote control to access the menu.

Mounting

If you aren't using a tripod stand for the dish, it needs to be mounted to the side of the building; don't mount it onto the roof. The dish itself usually consists of the reflector and built-in mast, the support arm and the low noise block. The mast can be mounted onto wood, concrete or brick. Drill holes into your surface with an appropriate drill and bit, using the holes in the mast foot as a guide. Mount the dish to brick or cement with the machine screws that the dish should come with. Mounting onto wood requires lag screws. The coaxial cable connects to the low noise block at the end of the support arm, but you won't connect this particular cable to the receiver box.

Grounding

The dish has to be grounded as a safety precaution. Secure a grounding wire under the foot of the mast; this is done with a grounding bolt included with the kit. This wire and the coaxial cable will connect to the installation kit's grounding block. This block must be attached to a grounding rod or another good ground point that is firmly in the ground like a cold water pipe. Use Number 8 aluminum or Number 10 copper wire to connect the block to the ground. The block then connects to the receiver box with second coaxial cable.

8. Reinstall the lamp and screw the back panel of the television back into position.

8. Touch the screen or insert a disc into your camcorder to cancel Demo mode if an unknown picture appears on the screen.

Wiring a TV antenna to a FM stereo is a great way to receive signals from all of your local and FM stations, and some from far away.

Instructions

1. Determine what type of wire you have coming from your TV antenna. If the wire is a flat cable with two wire leads on either side, this a 300-ohm antenna connection. If it is a round cable, then you have a 75-ohm system.

2. Connecting either one is an easy task. If you have the 300-ohm system, it will be simple to strip another length of the 300-ohm flat cable approximately 1" from both ends. Using your screwdriver, attach these two leads to the spot where the antenna connects to the back of the stereo. There may be several screws for antennas. Select the pair that is identified as 300 ohm and attach. Remove the antenna connection from the back of your TV and twist the pairs of wire together, keeping each side separate. Reattach to the TV.

3. Wiring the 75-ohm cable is a little more involved, and requires a matching transformer to increase the resistance for the stereo. The 75-ohm-to 300-ohm transformer can be purchased at any hardware or electronics store. Simply screw the cable end into the transformer receptacle and attach the 300-ohm forked ends onto the appropriate screws of the stereo antenna connection. Follow Step 4 for attaching a cable splitter.

4. The connection to some stereos may have the cable plug already installed on the rear of the stereo tuner. In this case, you will need a cable antenna splitter and two premade cable leads to attach to both the TV and the stereo. The splitter will be clearly identified for “Antenna In” and “Out 1,” “Out 2”. No tools are required.

1. Ensure that FM transmitter is turned on. Press the "XM" menu button on the front of the Inno2. 9. Select the photo on your computer that you would like to upload to your key chain by clicking on it in the photo viewer.

10. Crop your photos by placing the box in the crop marquee over the area that you would like to show on the key chain.

Instructions

Not all problems with DVD recorders are caused by a dirty lens, so cleaning your DVD writer will not solve all problems. In any event, the cost for repairing a DVD writer is usually greater than the cost of buying a new machine, so the following almost no-cost solution to your problem is usually well worth a try.

Instructions

1. Turn your DVD writer on its back and unscrew the four to five screws you see.

2. Gently turn your DVD writer right side up. Carefully pull the cover straight up and off. Set the cover aside.

3. Locate the clear lens. The lens is always in an obvious and easy-to-reach place. Dip one end of a cotton swab in your rubbing alcohol and then gently, with only the lightest pressure, rub the lens with a circular motion. Rub the lens with a dry swab to dry the lens. Again, use as little pressure as possible.

4. Reassemble your DVD writer. It should work like new.

5. Open the DVD drawer in a unit that cannot be easily disassembled (such as a unit built into a computer). Shine your flashlight into the unit and find the lens. Dip your long cotton swab into rubbing alcohol and carefully, using as little pressure as possible, rub the lens in a circular motion. Allow the lens to dry completely before trying your DVD writer.

Poor Reception

Bad reception--where the image comes in but it's fuzzy or snowy--is likely caused by the antenna attached to the Mitsubishi TV. You can correct it by changing the tilt or angle of the antenna. Cables

3. Look for the "Options" or "Set Up" setting on the DVD menu and push it. Then search for the small THX logo among your various choices. Scroll over to it and push it to access the THX Optimizer. It allows you to cycle through a number of still screens that help you adjust the specifics of your projection TV picture.

4. Skip the first two steps in the Optimizer if you want. They correct the contrast and brightness levels, which are important, but only indirectly pertain to the color.

5. Note what comes on the screen when you reach the third step in the Optimizer. You will see that it is full of the words "Color" and "Tint." The letters of each word alternate blue and white.

6. Put on a set of THX Optimizer glasses, available for a small fee from the THX webpage (see Resources below). Then look at the screen again.

7. Adjust the color controls on your projection TV until all the letters in the word "Color" appear to be the same shade while wearing the glasses. (You can do the same thing for the word "Tint" by adjusting the tint controls on your projection TV.)

8. Remove the glasses and cycle through the remainder of the Optimizer steps. They allow you to perfect the sharpness and screen aspect ratio if you wish: important, but again, not directly pertinent to the color.

9. Exit the Optimizer menu.
